The name of the album "Cosmo's Factory" comes from the warehouse in Berkeley where the band rehearsed. Bandleader John Fogerty was so insistent on practicing (nearly every day) that drummer Doug "Cosmo" Clifford began referring to the place as "the factory".

Released in 1970, Creedence Clearwater Revival's "Cosmo's Factory" captured the band at the height of their commercial success. Fronted by the iconic John Fogerty, Creedence Clearwater Revival (CCR) was a driving force in the roots rock movement, blending blues, rockabilly, and country influences into their own swampy sound.
The album title itself is a testament to the band's relentless work ethic. "Cosmo's Factory" refers to the Berkeley warehouse where CCR honed their craft through countless rehearsals. Drummer Doug "Cosmo" Clifford's nickname for the space speaks to the band's dedication, a quality reflected in the album's tight musicianship and Fogerty's powerful vocals.
"Cosmo's Factory" wasn't without its controversies. Fogerty's strong songwriting voice sometimes clashed with the rest of the band, particularly over production choices. Despite these internal tensions, the album produced a string of hits, including the foot-stomping "Travelin' Band," the soulful "Who'll Stop the Rain," and the bluesy shuffle of "Lookin' Out My Back Door."
The album showcased the talents of all four band members: Fogerty on rhythm guitar and vocals, Tom Fogerty (John's brother) on lead guitar, bassist Stu Cook, and drummer Doug Clifford. Each musician brought their own fire to the record, creating a cohesive and electrifying sound.
