Album Front Cover Photo

Front cover artwork of Elton John's 1988 12" EP "I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That".

The design is a richly textured collage of photos and textile fragments celebrating Elton John's flamboyant style. Multiple mannequins dressed in sequined jackets, feathered costumes, and ceremonial uniforms dominate the composition. Their faceless forms wear oversized glasses, golden crowns, and elaborately decorated hats, referencing Elton's iconic stage presence and fashion statements.

A sepia-toned cut-out of a young boy in vintage attire stands to the left of center next to a typed text insert that reads “i don’t wanna go on with you like that.” The background is filled with vibrant reds, golds, oranges, and blues, representing stage fabrics, rhinestones, fruit, stars, epaulets, and other objects hinting at fame and spectacle.

The lower right corner features a yellow-toned image of a man with “ELTON JOHN” emblazoned on the back of his jacket, along with a crate of straw boater hats — a subtle nod to both costume and identity. The band's name "ELTON JOHN" appears vertically on the left in large block letters, partially obscured by the image mosaic.

Back cover of Elton John's 12" EP "I Don't Wanna Go On With You Like That" (1988).

This artwork continues the front cover’s collage motif, composed of tightly packed cut-outs from fabrics, beaded embroidery, feathers, hats, glittery costumes, cherries, and anonymous mannequin forms. The overall color scheme pulses with reds, oranges, golds, and blacks, echoing the vibrant visual aesthetic of Elton John’s stage presence.

Centered across the image in horizontal strips of vivid pink, lavender, and green are typewriter-style titles of the included tracks: "I Don’t Wanna Go On With You Like That (Remix)", "B/W I Don’t Wanna Go On With You Like That", and "Rope Around a Fool". These titles break up the patchwork of images and add structure.

The right side contains the EP’s technical details including catalog number, barcode, and track durations printed vertically over a translucent strip. A small, cut-off version of the front cover appears here in miniature, creating a visual echo. Among the collage are playful elements like a patch of a cartoon character and repeated appearances of the sepia photo of the young boy seen on the front.
